ICalls aren't on a talkgroup. They use radio ID numbers.

For ID-Search: You will hear them w/out doing anything.
For ID-Scan: Make a channel with its TGID as i0. I-Calls will be received.

Ok thanks. Also I see Independence has a few 800mhz frequencies now... is this going to be taking over their 700 freqs? I know that Blue Springs is going P25 on 800, just didn't know if Independence will fully transition from 700 to 800...

Looks like they will have both 700, and 800 frequencies.

They may just be adding more capacity. A trunked system can have both 700 and 800 MHz channels in the same system or the same site.

Add 1 - Fixed 2590 SE SOUTH ADAMS DAIRY PARKWAY
BLUE SPRINGS, MO JACKSON County 38-59-31.1 N, 094-15-15.4 W

Add 2 - Fixed 27600 E. COLBERN ROAD
LEES SUMMIT, MO JACKSON County 38-56-54.1 N, 094-15-38.0 W

Yeah, I'm guessing they're expanding coverage to include Blue Springs PD and maybe Lee's Summit PD?! I wonder why they have a site in Lee's Summit if not including Lee's Summit! It would makes sens in terms of interoperability, especially when MOSWIN gets going... Can a single band radio use both 700 and 800 at the same time, or would it have to be a multi-band radio? I may have answered my own question, but thought I'd ask...

Narcotics/Vice uses that and 33101 for most operations. Almost all of it is encrypted, but you might catch clear traffic on those from time to time.

The new license is to provide coverage for Blue Springs PD. They're supposedly going to the Independence system later this year. As far as your radio question goes, the Motorola XTS/XTL 2500 and 5000 models will do both 700/800. I think Independence uses the 5000 models...

Ok, great, that's what I figured, but wanted to confirm.

Thank, up north of the river around I-35 & Antioch I'm picking up a lot of "unknown" talkgroups, most of the odd ones no one seems to know anything about !!

Okay, I give up!
How do you enter a TGID into a 396 of i0???
I used to have it in my old KCMO analog.
Now when I enter it (.=i) and a 0, it comes up TGID of 70000.
Thanks,
Jack007

I will try, but I think I did try that.
Are you sure you did this on a P25 system?
It seems to accept the commands on analog but not P25.

Thanks!

Jackson County Sheriff will be going digital within 18 months. New mobiles and portables are expected to be in the field before the digital system is fully up. Funds are secured. It's still not clear (to those on the patrol level) whether it will be MARRS or MOSWIN, but if it's MARRS, that could explain the Colbern Rd tower.

Keep in mind that Blue Springs city limits run all the way down to Colbern now on MO 7 HWY, so it could just be for BSMO south coverage.

Jackson County Sheriff runs radio for Sheriff's Office, Grain Valley, Oak Grove, Buckner, Lotawana, Tapawingo, Greenwood, Lone Jack. Conservation uses county for most of their routine radio traffic in Jackson County (running plates, going on stops, requesting backing deputy, etc.)

That is good news in terms of "interoperability" no matter which system they will go with. I'm excited to hear that though! Keep us informed!!
