I believe they are separate from the actual KCMO system, so to speak. They tie in to the KCMO System like JOCO does, but they are two separate systems. So program them in individually.

Also I have a question... Does anyone know with Jackson County going P25, will Grandview and Raytown give up their frequencies and go P25 also, or even just upgrade to P25? What about Lee's Summit, heard awhile back they were going P25 conventional... Just wondering about these other agencies.

Exclamation Want to hire someone to update firmware and program BC996T

I am looking to hire someone who can update my firmware and program my BC996T. I am looking for programing for all local law agencies etc. I have the GPS antenna that I would like to use in addition.

I will pay the right person cash, to assist me in getting my scanner set up.

Platte County will have 5 channel system that is attached to the KC MARRS system. It's primarily Law Enforcement and will not add much to the reception of the bulk of the KC/JOCO talk groups. Not sure what if any KC talk groups will be allowed on the system.

Testing going on. Have some control channel activity at this time broadcasting system id.

33002,33005, 33009 and the others 3300x not on the A Channel list might be side channels. Usually, KCMO FD Dispatcher calls a unit on one of these channels and tells them to switch over to one of the "A" channels. Kinda wondering if these are EMS units out of the station not on a call.

Default Blue Springs PD

Blue Springs PD tossed the switch Monday.

I only have the single talkgroup on the reference page programmed in.

I spoke to somebody who said they have multiple talkgroups, including at least:

PD North
PD Center
PD South
Investigations
Street Crimes

The "north, center, south" are more titles than geographical descriptions. From what I understood, they'll dispatch on one, switching to others if they're holding the air or for some special reason. Maybe "north, center, south" sounded more important that "1, 2, 3," or "A, B, C."

I may bring the scanner in from the car and hook it up to decode some CC data and hopefully catch them on one of the other TGs so we can get them identified.

Default Platte County testing

Monitoring the Platte county system on 11-28 and radio techs using TG 34100 for testing.

Several cars were being taken out of service yesterday for installs including the command bus.

Since Platte county opted for so few frequencies this will just be attached to the MARRS. PC will
Roam on MARRS if needed.

All Platte County agencies will move to the new system.

Platte County Sheriff transitions to the stereo Dec. 5th.

Don't know when the fireside will transition.

The VHF fire frequency will remain active for the paging of calls.

Update on Jackson County, MO.

I'm not telling y'all anything that couldn't be "found out" by attending a public legislative meeting, etc., BUT,

Jackson County Sheriff primary talkgroups will be on MARRS (not MOSWIN as previously thought.) The radios will have interop talkgroups on both systems.

Encryption isn't nailed down yet, tac talkgroups for sure, on-the-fly is being looked at for primary dispatch talkgroups, and there are some at the department who favor encrypting -everything.-

The mobiles are APX7500, portables are APX7000. They are VHF/700/800.

Delivery on the radios is estimated at 4-6 weeks.

The outside agencies that the Sheriff's Office dispatches for will be responsible for buying their own radios, until they do, there will be either simulcast or patching in place to allow them continued use of the current VHF freqs for a currently undetermined amount of time.

Current outside agencies using Jackson County Sheriff for dispatch include:

Grain Valley PD
Oak Grove PD
Buckner PD
Lone Jack PD
Lake Lotawana PD
Greenwood PD
Lake Tapawingo PD

The Jackson County Conservation Agents also run most to all of their routine traffic through the Sheriff's Office.

This years funds provided the radios / programming / etc., and next year there are plans to construct two additional towers for MARRS from the County's coffers.

I assume that the agency numbers will remain the same.

Monitoring the System on the 5th had the control channel intermittent.

I'll up date if and when they make the switch.

PlatCo will only carry kc traffic if the talk groups are patched.

It appears the control channel is currently off. Not receiving anything as of 05:18...

Default Platte County

Disregard my last message. It appears Platte has switched control channels. 858.4375 appears to be the active one for now.

Getting lots of LE activity on talkgroups 34101 and 34117 (unsure who's using what).

It sounds like the Sheriff's Office has completely switched as the legacy VHF channels have been silent most of the morning.
