It is 30 to 50 miles between Bakerville & Benton which is north of Sikeston, and it's 50 to 60 miles to Poplar Bluff. They need more coverage than that I'd say.

Something seems a little fishy sometimes. We have a site that is 20 miles away or less and a site 10 miles away, the closest site to affiliate on the radio is further away. Doesn't make sense, but maybe they have a method to their madness! Wish we know more, but assume after Jan. 1 we will!

Semo, I thought they may have moved it to Benton since that's they the DB here lists it now. I used to get the 700 MHz some, but not in a good while now.

Wonder why they are still turning sites on and why some don't seem up to their full potential yet?! What needs done before a site is in operation?

The system is designed for users to have vehicular repeaters for the portable coverage. That however extends the cost for agencies wanting that kind of coverage. P25 vehicular repeaters are by no means cheap, although P25 trunking portables are hovering around the 1200 dollar mark. (Unless you feel the need to buy a name)

Time must be running out. Noticed they were testing in Nevada on Sunday. The testing is weird. If somebody knows what they are testing, please reply. Its like they are looking at a map and saying whether the road is pass, private, impassable or need a 4x4. Noticed the same testing out of the Cassville tower last week.

Troop D
Heard testing of Troop D on 30 December. Don't remember the freqs but talk groups identified them as Troop D. The two operators were giving out a series of numbers and with each number were saying "Pass" or "Green." I have MOSWIN running on a BCD-96TX in IDSCAN mode.

Antennas HWP
Anyone have a eye ball on what antenna system MHP are using on the car's...for VHF?....have seen one picture almost looks like a 1/2 wave no ground plane antenna on the roof with a spring....it looks short like 32inches...should be around 38 to 39 inches for a 5/8 wave for 171.000 to 169.000.........ok I have nothing else to do............thanks mike

I though it looked like a quarter wave with a spring located in the center roof just behind the LED light bar. I drove by the Barry County sheriff office last week to see if any of their cars had new antenna's but nothing. I thought they were supposed to have all this up by the end of 2012?

i was told that the antenna on top of the roof was the VHF antenna for the system...i don't think so..why would they have a quarter wave ???...look on the trunk and you will see a 5/8 wave ...i think that's the one...i could be wrong...maybe someone else will get in on this...

The one on the roof should be for MOSWIN, not sure about 1/4 wave maybe their VHF channels like Car to Car? The taller one should be the "tail whip" I'd think.
