They are testing heavily on the Bakerville tower today on TG #84. They're going by Red, Blue & green teams. They are coming in on all 3 of my digital radios.

Here is the license application for the Bakerville site in Pemiscot County. I see that MOSWIN has signed a formal agreement with the federal government, to share frequency assets. This should prove to be very interesting down the road.

FCC Application

Memorandum Of Understanding

Yours truly,

Thanks Thunderbolt. I've been waiting on this one. I live about 7 miles west of it as the crow flies. I wonder why it needs 15 freqs? They mistakenly show it to be 1.7 miles south of Highway 412. It may be 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile at the most.

Although it looks like 15, it's really only 10 frequencies (some are duplicated further down in the listing). Which comes out to 5 repeater pairs. Each site is (supposed to be) a 5 channel (pair) system, so 10 frequencies per site should be what we see, after all is said and done...

Took a road trip down to Poplar Bluff on Wednesday and loaded several of the sites into the scanner in the truck on the way down. Started picking up control channels pretty reliably on US 60 in Eastern Carter County. Heard quite a bit of testing on the Poplar Bluff site as well; and got a nice look at the tower when we got there. Went down and picked up some surplus antennas and hardline that they pulled off the old tower.

I noticed that later after I posted. I finally just used the 1st five on the #1 site on the list. Thanks.

Why would they need 2 licenses in the location?

This is rather commonplace in wide-area trunking systems. They probably did this to draw upon both the Public Safety and Federal frequency pools. I have a feeling this site is going to be very busy with a lot radio traffic when it is all said and done.

I entered it, but I may be too far away.

When you receive your 996XT, please be sure to update the firmware in your scanner. It will significantly help your ability to receive Project 25 systems. These are available on the Uniden Web site for the 996XT.

If I'm not mistaking, this site wasn't listed on the Map (PDF File) in the 2011 forum, it makes me wonder if they will have more sites than the 71 (225 originally planned)

"Cherryville MSHP" is drawn on the map I'm looking at.

It's drawn on the northern border of Dent county however.

It's interesting that this site is assigned 154.935, which is currently being used as the TAC 3 channel.
I've noticed a few of the other sites using 154.665 (TAC 4) and 154.935 (TAC 3), as well as the Tarkio site using 154.905, which is now being used as an extender frequency.

It will be interesting to watch and see how the old and new technologies get along during the transition.
