Default Platte County, MO

I keep hearing rumors that effective today 10/1/12, AMR Ambulance will be taking over ambulance response for the Southern half of Platte County (Parkville, Riverside, Lake Waukomis, etc). The contract with KCFD EMS apparently expired today. Does anyone know what system or frequencies AMR is using to dispatch calls in that area? So far, I haven't heard anything new on MARRS or the usual Platte Co frequencies...

My source told me they are already at South Platte and Inter City. He said the dispatch center in Independence controls Topeka, Independence, Miami County Kansas, Johnson County Kansas, S.Platte, Inner-City, and some other place he can't remember of. He'll get me the frequency info for all he said, so we can confirm with what's in the database. He also said that they make weekly contracts with someone.

Sounds great! So far, I've been listening to the 31843 talkgroup on MARRS, and it's nothing but JOCO KS stuff on that one. 155.175 seems to be covering only Independence and Sugar Creek runs.

I'm surprised to see AMR in Indpendence on VHF when they could be part of MARRS in interoperability terms... I have seen a few of the MO Rigs have 800 antenna's on them, I think.

SOUTHERN PLATTE CO. AMBULANCE DISTRICT DITCHES KC FIRE DEPT., GOES WITH AMR Here's an article I just found shedding some light into the picture for you. I can't tell the date it came out. It states that they're going to have to figure out between KCFD and Platte County who will be dispatching them... a lot to be ironed out I guess, but they'll get it figured out!

Ah cool! I'm still surprised to see the Independence AMR Units using Analog VHF. Kinda interesting in terms of interoperability in and around KC.

Will do. Seeing that the tower status is in "site trunking" mode, it may be a bit before any talkgroup activity comes to life. Will definitely be watching for "connected" mode :-).

Can you use the other Control Channels that are not active as Voice Channels? As it appears, they'll only have two Voice Channels to work with if you can't use the Control Channels that aren't being used.

Each site can only have one control channel active at a time. All the rest of the channels are normally used for voice channels.
