Default Radio Signal Dead Zone

Hey guys,

Any reason why there may be some dead zones in some areas around town? I live in Columbia and when I am in these "zones" I will get 5 bars of incoming traffic, but it's only a very low hum and no talking can be heard. I was wondering what these could be.

thanks,
Adam

Could be overloading from nearby transmitters. A powerful transmitter nearby will overload the front end of a cheap radio, even an expensive one if you are close enough, and block out everything.

What if global ATT is on and it's still just noise? What would that be?

If "global ATT" is an attenuator, then it just means the signal is that much stronger. Could be a completely different issue, I'm just some stranger on the internet making guesses based on a bit of information
