JEFFCO South Site 104 on air
Jeffco's South site appears to be on the air with a SYSID of 4F2 and a site ID of 104 from my location.
CC is currently on 853.96250
Hearing testing on talkgroup 12502 amongst three or four users mostly down in the southern part of the county.
The frequencies identied by Pro96com are pretty much the same as listed for Jeffco's south site here in the database.
Also had a few hits on talkgroup 1 when I first noticed the site in P25 mode.

Jeff Co will have about 12 sites when done. What is the location of the south site?
I have found 3 others so far for Jeff Co.
On 61/67 just south of Kimswck behind school bus garage.
On or near Telegraph near Meramec River just south of StL county line.
Across from South County nursing home on north outer road hwy 21.
Anyone else have locations?

new Jeffco sysem
Site 4F4 has been active all day (Tuesday) with test messages and calls to units. One reply was from 370 & 70 out in St. Charles county.
I'm note sure which site 4F4 is, though. sorry!

I'm not sure if the "South Site" has a dedicated location being a multi-site simulcast system.
I guess I should have said the South System. I was just going from what it was called in the database here and I assume that may have been deduced from the licenses for jeffco.
If the database is correct, it sounds like they are going to run two different systems in that county as each uses different frequencies.
I monitored it yesterday and heard a lot of testing as well as encryption on some other talkgroups. Mostly the same RIDs though when they switched TG's and went enc.
I've also counted multiple tower sites going from the licenses and license apps I've searched over the past year.

Sounds like we all have some work cut out for us in the next few months. Hope it turns out to be fun.

Interesting that it is a different System ID... possibly to be used only during testing, to prevent others from accidentally trying to use it???
So is it showing any neighboring sites at all?
NAC tone on the scanner (check any active frequency)
Thanks for the update!

I found the odd SYSID interesting as well.
Not sure if the NAC is the same as what it decodes from the CC but if so, the Jeffco South location has a NAC of 4F4 and the St. Charles 800 system has a NAC of 4F3.
As was mentioned in the St. Charles thread, there was not much voice traffic yet and no ID channel yet. I apparently caught the last two voice transmissions yesterday and then they went silent for the evening.
I'll try and confirm those NAC's again this afternoon when I get home.

Missed this question but no, no neighbors on this site or the new St. Charles sites at all. And no CWID channel yet on the St. Charles site plus very little testing. The Jeffco south site seems to be pretty active with voice testing but the CWID is still CHANGEME.

Jeff Co Site info. Was in south county on Thursday (Crestwood/Sunset Hills area) and using my 396xt without an outside antenna on my vehicle I just barely picked up voice traffic on TG's 12502 and 12006. The SID was 04F2h Site was 0104. The 396xt would decode the site off and on during the day. Not sure if the techs were turning it off and on for testing. FYI only unless people have questions.

I heard them discussing the need to turn off one of the sites towers so an upgrade could be performed as it was causing degraded performance.
That was on Wednesday or yesterday but they did not know when that would occur so maybe that was going on when you were monitoring.
I also noticed signal drops for short periods during the day but things seemed to level off after dark as if they stopped fine tuning for the day.
They could also be aligning antennas at each tower site in that simulcast system which could appear as signal drops.
I'm seeing some multipath here. It seems that I'm hearing more than one tower. The 536HP does a much better job at decoding the voice traffic over a 996XT so far. I'm sure things will change as they tune but being outside the intended coverage area, only time will tell if things will get better or worse.
I've also been watching the new site 103 in St Charles but it has been rare hearing any voice traffic yet so I can't really say how well that site is working.

Was all over Jeff Co today and did not hear a peep out of the Jeff Co site 104. Must be off line for further testing I guess. Not sure.

Yep, the transmitter went dead just about 9:25 PM last night.
Has not returned since.

It's been five weeks since anyone's reported hearing anything from the Jeffco sites. Anyone have any ideas as to how long it should take the engineering folks to analyze the data they gathered when they had Jeffco up and running? I remember a post saying that they need to finish tuning the system while the trees are still full.

Off and on signals coming from all three counties mainly control channel signals. Not sure what is going on or how long it will take. Fall will be here soon and the leaves will be falling.

About two hours of "testing, testing....." tonight on the Jeffco sites. I'm still showing the north and south online (that's assuming I've got them programmed in the scanner correctly) but the voice traffic has stopped.
