Talking Newbie here :)

Hey fellow MO peeps! I just got a BC 340 CRS Scanner...and I know nothing about this stuff yet I am wanting to listen to the local police here in Independence zip 64055. Will this unit work? If not what will? On a cheap budget. Thanx for your time and help!

No you can not listen to the Independence police with the BC 340 CRS scanner according to the RR data base http://www.radioreference.com/module...me=RR&sid=4744
You need a digital scanner like the BCD396T or BCD 996T.
