800mhz has terrible penetration. If they have enough freq. pairs why not switch.

Now on the other hand, I agree it is a waste of taxpayer money. In the current socialst climate we find ourselfs in (against my will) The good for nothing lawmakers could care less about the peasants...

Now i thought 800Mhz was able to penetrate through structural buildings unless thats VHF or UHF, mainly i thought VHF signals would go weak if your inside a building when UHF doesnt.. am i right on that one?

The 800 system in Billings is LTR Multi Net which they were told is or has gone away and factory support is limited so the city needs to replace the existing system anyway so why not look at joining the IM system which is a "statewide" P25 VHF trunked system
