Default 154.9650 mhz

Hi
I am picking up either the sandpoint pd or the bonner county sheriff on 154.9650 . I live in northwest, MT. Signal is very noisy and weak but sometimes I can understand it. And the signal is not encrypted.

Hi
They may have shut the signal off as I'm not picking it up now. I did move my antenna to try to get a better signal and that is when I lost it.
Moved it back but it did not help. Hmmmm

Listed as Bonner County Fire (Future Use). I used to get all kinds of things up near there though, CdA/Sandpoint and Spokane signals travel pretty far.

I would have to wonder if it was a simulcast test situation, given the fact that the frequency is listed as [Future Use], because when I lived in Spokane, I could hear Bonner County and once and awhile, Sandpoint PD and it was always on their listed UHF frequencies. There is also that slight chance that it was some tropo skip or other phenomenon! Might want to keep it plugged into the scanner and see what happens!

Smile 154.965 ?

You didn't mention where in NW Montana your listening post is, but you could be listening to Sanders County SO which broadcasts on 154.965. They have a transmitter site on top of Patrick's Knob near Plains and Paradise. I can pick it up in the Kalispell area.

Hi Helitac!
I live in Libby, MT. and signal is coming from Idaho as they give the time in PST. But it's good to know that Sanders Co. S/O is using that frequency. Thanks for the info!
