They make a P25 module for the XTS3000?

Yup, the original P25 portable I believe. P25 predates the XTS5000, 2500 and 1500 radios.

I even had to ask a friend that's been into /\/\ for years if it was normal that a P25 conventional channel with a properly set NAC would not open squelch on the encrypted users but would on the ones in the clear on my 5000/2500 (I wanted to make sure my radio wasn't programmed wrong!).

Learning the ASTRO CPS was one of the most interesting trial-and-error experiences of my adult life...

The XTS3000 has a vocoder, a control board and an RF board. Nowhere is there a P25 board.

The Astro Saber has a vocon and an RF board. Again, there is no P25 board in this radio either. My point is these radios aren't scanners and don't need a digital board. That all depends on the flashcode, the HOST and the DSP.

Ahh good point.

Rephrase:

I learned that with the right model, host, and flash a xts3k / saber could do P25 operation.

There is no special board.
