Default MTS2000 800MHZ Programing In Houston

I have a radio (MTS2000 III) that is on the Harris County SmartNet system that I would like to add a couple other department frequencies to (TX and RX). There are about 100 other frequencies on the radio that I use for mutual aid and other fire/police related communications. Is there anyone (individual preferably) that could help out? I know that there is all of this talk about system key(s) and so forth, but this radio is already on the system so that should not be a problem correct?

If the radio is "already on the system," you should talk to the system administrator or your department's radio shop to have new channels added. Good luck.

System Admin is the best way to go, programming advice won't be given here due to liability/legality issues, not to mention it could brick the radio.

Just like everyone says, see your admin. If it's from another jurisdiction, you will probably have to have your chief write a letter that request/requires their channels on your radio.

No one here want's to put in the channels due to the fact there could be some hell to pay if they got caught! Plus, how do we know you isn't a Motorola rep or from Harris County?

I'd be very careful what you say you want and/or do. There are people from the Harris County radio shop on this forum.

If you have a legit radio on starnet or hcrrs (or whatever it's called these days), tell your chain of command what you want and why. If your reason can be justified, your command will have to get permission from that agency before the techs at the county shop will reprogram your radio.

Not to mention that the System Key is imbedded into the portable, all the time. No one here could reprogram it anyway.
