Default XTS 2500 problem

The LCD screen on my XTS 2500 stopped working today. The screen does not display anything upon start up. Anyone have any suggestions? Or is this something I have to bring to a dealer?

does it still work, tx/rx and function properly?

Was it on a trunking radio system?

If the answer to the first question is yes, then you may want to pop it open, carefully, and see if the display connector didn't come loose.

Yes, it still functions properly. Transmits and receives fine. And, no it was not on a trunked system. The only problem is the screen not working...

If you have sufficient skills and tools, you can replace the whole case and the display assembly at low cost by buying the parts directly from Motorola and doing the work yourself.

You can sign up for access to Motorola's parts and supplies ordering system (Called Motorola OnLine, or MOL) at http://businessonline.motorola.com

There was a factory notification a few months ago that advised that the flex inside can come loose if the radio is dropped or knocked around. You can pop the cover and check the connection first.

My friend ended up fixing the problem. By pressing down hard on the case he was able to get the screen working again. Probably a temporary fix, but it did the job.

Well known, very common problem with the XTS1500/2500.

It will happen again.
