last I checked, under flat rate depot repair it was around $280. FWIW, you'd be better off zapping the EEPROM (U401 IIRC) with something like 24VDC, the FAIL 01/93 is a dead giveaway that someone was poking around with unauthorized tools. I've heard some people being charged time and materials on toolproofed radios, though this was before the Mexidepot opened up. Support will be ending not too far off for the MTS2000 anyway, I'd say it cheaper to find another radio with a good controller and board swap, retune/realign. Depending on the band, VHF and UHF MTS2000's are showing up at giveaway prices. I bought a pretty much NOS UHF model II off here for next to nothing.

Accoring to Batlabs, you can just reprogram the S-Record.

FYI you have to have an S-record backup for that exact radio, dumping an S-record from another MTS2000 will not clear the FAIL 01/93. If you did not backup the S-record from your specific radio, than I am afraid you are out of luck. If you read up on how toolproofing works, it is a signature byte in the codeplug itself comprised of your radio's specific data created at the factory and compared each time the radio is booted up. Using LAB/DEPOT alters this fingerprint and causes the radio to idle. Unless you saved those S-records for your radio, putting someone else's into it will not work.
