Default VHF Conventional Systems Saber III MDC

I have been able to successfully program my SS III to transmit PTT ID at the beginning of a transmission. However, if I toggle that setting to before/after and or after (my preferred setting) the radio does not transmit any MDC data. Returning the setting to before will once again allow the radio to transmit the MDC data.

Is there another setting that I'm missing that is required for post transmit PTT ID?

That is all you have to do. A type III should handle that with no problem. My Saber III even does it and it's not a Systems!

It may have something to do with the secure. I had thougt that only nonsecure sabers could do post key MDC. I have to fire up my Systems saber RSS tomorrow I will look..

Interesting. My unit quits transmitting the MDC data when anything but "before" is selected.

And I'm not running secure. This is a plain old VHF repeater running PL. Nothing fancy.
