Default Moto CPS Question

The fire station I belong to got a new CDM1250 for use in a new truck that is coming soon. I went to program it, and when I went to read the radio I got an error that says "Model not supported". My CPS version is R06.06.00 and I am thinking that I need the newer version of the CPS (R06.11.xx) for the new radio. I've programmed CDM1250's before with this version of CPS, so I hope it's just a software issue.

Anyone know for sure?

Yes indeed, you need a newer version. Like you, been programming HT1250's and 750's for years, no issue. Then one day, I get a half dozen new 750's in, and get the same message you're getting. I lucked out, another customer had the newer version, and was able to take care of me. The other customer got an upgrade from Moto automatically. If you're software was bought from Moto, you may be eligible to just get an upgrade.

My experience is usually that the error message when you're using old software is "Codeplug too new for this application", not "Model not supported". You can try to get the updated software, but I'm not sure that it will do what you need.

I have gotten the "Model Not Supported" message when trying to program a Waris radio with older software as well.

Thanks for the replies. The new version of software (HMN9025V) is on it's way. Now that I reupped my subscription for 3 years, they should be sending updates periodically...

BTW...What's Waris?

Waris is the name of the HT750/HT1250/CDM1250 series of radios. The name of the chassis/design, if you will. Kind of like calling a certain type of car an F-body, or a computer an AT or XT design (wow, that dates me).

Others include Jedi (for the HT1000/MT(S)2000/etc model), and I believe Genesis for the MT1000/HT600 models. A better Motorola historian than I can add others.. I think there's also a Renegade chassis, that might be what they call the XTS/XTL line.
