Default GP338/HT1250 sidetone

I though this video was interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...hWd-ULXc#t=52s

The particular model in the video is a GP338. I thought that particular sidetone was impossible?

This sidetone is emitted when operating on trunked networks. This indicates a frequency has been selected and the talkgroup is clear for transmission.

I'm familiar with a talk permit tone, but I don't think that particular model of radio is capable of trunking. I was just a bit baffled by the sidetone (notice that it's a post TX tone, so certainly not a TPT). Must just be one of the quirks of those AZ radios.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8530/5.0.0.654 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/389)

Maybe it was flashed into an ht1250 ls
