When were they made?

I was wondering if some of you Motorola guys (I'm a vertex standard guy) could tell me when the following models were introduced. not looking for a date, just a rough year. i couldn't find anything in a google search

HT1000

HT1000 somewhere around 1992. I'd have to research the CP200 but they're much newer (especially since they're still in production).

If you have a specific radio you want to look up you can tell the date from the serial number using the cross reference in this link --> Determining Manufacture Date By Serial Number

I think the CP200's came out around the early 2000's, maybe 2002-ish.

The Motorola cp200s were made in 2003/2004. They were made nearly the same date when icom released the ic-f21 radios. I have both and that's what the manuals say.

Thanks to all. I thought the CP200s were older then that, perhaps around about the same as HT1000s. I must have been thinking of GP series

The 15 HT1000's I have are from late 1999, was one of the first 16 channel models with the emergency button on top. GM/GP series radios were from around 1992-xx and were great the 6 years we ran them less the mass batttery failure just before the ht's came in. but thats normal wear and tear. we upgraded our entire fleet in 99 with the "JEDI" series radios for intrinsically safe operations in the plant. I have 2 CP200 in the fleet and like the fact they are so small compared to the HT but they are not intrinsically safe so I cannot use them inside the plant itself for safety reasons.
