Default Can the CP200 be programmed to send pager tones?

I maintain the radios for my fire department. We often have dispatch send reminder pages for our training and other activities, but it can be a distraction to them when other matters are more pressing.

Can our CP200s be programmed to trip our Minitor V pagers so we can send those pages ourselves? The radios and pagers both operate in compatible VHF frequency ranges.

We have the CP200XLS models with the limited keypad (no DTMF) and they do QC-II and Plectron tone encoding just fine.

Further info for you:

I just found the sales brochure and the user guide for the basic CP200. Best I can tell, it can only do QC-II decode.

The basic CP200 will ONLY DECODE, there is no provision for doing page encode, (transmit)

Thanks guys.
I just have the basic CP200, so it looks like it will not transmit the tones.
I did generate the tones and imported them in to my iPhone; I wonder if I can play them thru the mic and if that'll trigger the pager.... More experimenting.

That's why we bought 15 of the CP200XLS Limited Keypad models. They were only a few bucks more on state contract and they have almost all of the bells and whistles available in the CP product line. It's good to have an EMS Chief who doesn't mind getting equipment that will work in the future as well as the present.

Rochester is not a bad place to be.

while this will work, its not ideal. You can pick up a vhf icom that does encode very well for under $200
