Default Not sure where to post

Hi,Forgive me for posting in this spot, as I am new here and didn't know where to post this.

I just purchased a used Motorola HT1250 MODEL: AAH25KDH9A6AN. I just want to be able to use it for work. I found this Programming Cable,http://www.amazon.com/Radio-Programm.../dp/B003D7H7OO, which I believe is the correct cable I need to be able to program the Radio but not 100% sure. I don't want to keep going to my Radio Dept to ask them to do this, as I like to do things on my own. However, as a last resort, I suppose I will have to.

I was also wondering what type of software I need for this radio?

I want to be able to unlock this radio, if it is locked, and be able to customize this to my taste.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in Advance!

The only software I know of is motorola's CPS software. It will run you about $250 if I remember right. It can only be purchased from Motorola. It is also not very easy to use. If you are just programming a few frequencies you may be able to figure it out. If you are going to do just a one time program I would go to your radio shop, it would be cheaper and easier.

Thanks!

I went there and he gave me the Cables and the Software...but now I have to put it on my old XP machine, as the USB Programing cable won't install (or I can't find) the Windows 7 x64 bit drivers...

I'm going to try to figure out how to put some frequencies in and manage them...If not...There's my next post!....lol
