• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a Motorola Online account with access to the programming and CPS software for 2-way radios.

I have a XTS2500 radio that I need to narrowband and I cannot find the right file to download for the ASTRO 25 Family mobiles and portables CPS.

Can anyone direct me to what exact file I need to download? Motorola does a good job at making it difficult to understand and find.

Thanks!

ASTRO25 CPS for portable the latests revision is 17.XX i believe. Its not a file per se. You change settings in the CPS to narrowband the radio.

I have filled out some for the HT series. I suppose I have to fill them out for the ASTRO25 series as well?

If you haven't purchased it or your subscription has run out it will not show in the resource center and obviously you can't download it.

Search RVN4181 in the buying center to see it.

I finally found it. It appears they want to charge me for it even though I already have a subscription.

If you only have a subscription for the Professional series, yes you'll have to purchase the Astro25 CPS. Or are you saying you already have a subscription and you're just trying to update the CPS? A subscription is only good for 3 years.

I purchased the HT series CPS last year and it was my understanding that I had a subscription good for 3 years starting at that time. I am not an expect on this stuff. Maybe I only have a subscription to the HT software since that is what I purchased.

Do you mean HT as in HT1250/HT750?

That's a completely different software package then the ASTRO25 line and requires a separate subscription.

I will look for another agency within my county who may have the software. Not going to be able to afford that.
