Default XPR6550 problem

I got handed a 6550 for repair.

It won't change channels using the 16 channel knob.
I can't shag the feeling that somewhere in the software, there is an option to use, or not use the top knob to change channels. But I have swam thru all the software, and don't see it.
All the channels and banks are programmed correctly, I can read and write to the radio.
But it's not changing channels, staying on channel one in every bank of channels, no matter where the knob is at. I can change banks using the menu on the radio.

Anyone have an easy fix for this before I send it off to a repair shop?

In the past year I've had to send 5 of my 6550s back for channel selector problems. One of them had the symptom you described; the others would intermittently jump up or down from the selected channel.

I have seen this on a lot of radios. It is not the programming or firmware.

The micro contacts inside the swich are shot and the assambly needs to be changed out.

Either order the switch assambly and chage it your self or send to a dealer for replacement.
