Default Minitor V Programming issue

At my FD we all have M5's with voice record feature. My A Chief decided to program a pager himself and botched it. It will not receive any signals anymore. I tried pulling the code plug from my pager which is in fine working order and program it to his. It still does not work. Im not sure if anyone out there knows a thing or two about these, but if it is the same code plug, why wont it work on the same pager???? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

You don't by chance know if Engineering Mode is enabled enabled on the software your chief used? If he had access to that, the prognosis is not good.
