Default xts2500

I have a xts 2500 that was bricked due to power loss during programing. It had FFP as an option prior to going to the depot to be repaired. When the radio is read this option appears in the feature set, but will not show on the display after you wrote to the radio. How do I get this feature back? I have my Ham license and use the radio for 2 meters while traveling.

Why the secrecy? Nothing wrong with discussing in the open forum so all can learn right.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Android 4.0.4; Linux; Opera Mobi/ADR-1301080958) Presto/2.11.355 Version/12.10)

Just go to radiowide, menu items, then add fpp back to the display menu.

Did you enable the fpp option under the zone? I think you have to make an fpp zone to have the option pop up on the screen.

I have found the problem, the original flash and the current flash is not the same. Motorola half flashed it and most of the feature set is gone. the current flash has only the Q53 only not both Q52 and Q53.
My question is how can i Fix it. Because now I am PISSED OFF!!!!

A quick fix would be to find the side dongle that would turn on the FPP until you could find someone who could reflash the radio.

Motorola legally cant let you have FPP unless you are a goverment user. If that was not the original flascode in the radio. They can reset it to what it had when It left the factory. So.. until you find someone with a very particular set of skills and software to get the FPP back into it. Your stuck with finding the dongle.

Does it have to be the federal government, or can it be a volunteer fire dept? What about county ems?

None of the non-federal uses you described above. The FCC has certain criteria with regards to the ability for an end user to have FPP in the Part 90 rules. It must only be the Federal Government for what you are looking for with regards to a radio certified in Part 90. Motorola will not step over that line as they have no control who will have the radio once it leaves depot.

The FPP option was originally set up for the Federal fire service for wildland firefighting. A few other.gov users were able to get it as part of federal interop. The run of the mill local and state goverments dont fall under that exemption. You may want to ask around at P25.ca there are a few people there who have some insight into what you may need.

What you need is a PMTN4113A (FPP CONNECTOR PROGRAMMING KEY).
