Default Astro Spectra Programming Cable

This may be a dumb question, I was just wondering, since the cable for the astro spectra is a male/female 25pin cable, would a parallel 25pin printer cable work just as good, if you had the rib box? i just dont see the point in paying $50 when you could pay $5. any feed back would be appreciated

No, but you can make your own for just as cheap. This info is for the Spectras but they use the same cables: Programming your Spectra
