Stay away from 06.12.08 if you're going to use the radio for ham use. It will make the codeplug narrowband only.(wont be able to switch to wide) Ham radio isn't effected by the narrowband mandate like part 90 services are (VHF and UHF freqs).

Unless if you jump through the hoops to get an entitlement which unlocks 25 kHz. So, yeah stick with the older CPS if you can!

Holy cow glad I read this. Thanks. I just this week re-upped my subscription for this and a few others (I think this was $285), but I haven't downloaded the software off MOL yet. I have ham stuff in some HT1250's and CDMs.

Hopefully they will come out with an easy fix or workaround. I assume this is also the case with the wideband MURS freqs?

As long as you have a legit copy of the CPS they will give you a entitlement key so the new CPS will allow wideband

In order to get the 25kz entitlement key, their is a online training that you have to take. It is called 'narrowbanding' and can be found in the traning section. Takes 15 minutes and then open a case and request that you be allowed to order the keys.

Their are 5 keys. Mototrbo – HKVN4046A Professional Series – HKVN4180A

PR860 – HKVN4181A Commercial Series – HKVN4182A CP185 – HKVN4183A

Also, this takes about 3 days and then you can go into the order search and order them.

Also, the system does not like ordering all at the same time, need to order one at a time.

Within about 48 hrs, you will recieve by email the keys.
