Default Clearifaction on wide banding keys

Sorry for the delay on this

After several conversations with several highly placed personal within Motorola, the following information has been obtained.

There are only two conditions that 25kz wide band entilement keys are needed.

1) If a radio was had a firmware upgrade that was dated after 26 Dec. 2012 or
2) A brand new radio that was released for sell after 1 Jan 2013,

if you are trying to program a radio that meets either of these two conditions and you are trying to enter a 25kz wide band channel, then you need to do the following.

First read the radio, make your changes, the software will sence the version of firmware and will at that time require you to use the entitlement key.

If you are doing this on a older version of firmware, you do not need the keys, as the 'lock out' is in the firmware and not in the software.

Soo, the bottom line is, older firmware is good to go and new is 'locked out'.

Hope this helps
