It's one of the best radios built - great radio all around. Program it and enjoy!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 6_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10B141 Safari/8536.25)
The only thing I wish mine did is QC-II and could store MDC aliases, but other than that I love mine.

There a decent radio.
As for battery life, depends on what size battery you put on it and how often you transmit.

Re: Motorola XTS 3000
Does anyone know if the Motorola XTS 3000 Model 1 able to be programmed for trunking such as WISCOM? Or is it just for the Motorola Smartnet Trunking Systems?

Here
Do you want to monitor a Trunked system with a Moto? Read This!
Unless your affiliated with the system then no
If you are affiliated it must have the right firmware in it and you'll need a system key.

Yes, it can however it will require special firmware which allows it follow a P25 Trunking system.
The work required to update your firmware (downgrade is perhaps a better term) makes the process hardly worth it.

I don't know why people keep saying this? It is possible to monitor the system without affiliating. Many people are doing it and many more people will do it.

Thiers a hack to do it but if the system is highly active then it won't work correctly. When you use a moto radio on a trunked system it must affiliate as in transmute and tell the controller it is active. Even if you set it to do not transmit it will still affiliate. Also you'll need an Id that's in the system. If just choose a random one then you can be a threat to any of the people on it as you can confuse the Id of your radio with the actual one you took. If you change your tlkgrp then the actual persons radio will change.

You should check the non-affiliation thread over at p25.ca. Nothing you've said has anything to do with this method of monitoring a trunking system.
If done properly, your radio will not transmit (transmute as you said), it will not affiliate, it will work despite the system load and you do not need a valid RID on the system.

Sorry forgot to add. But I am aware of the non affiliating way I've done it before. The problem is if the system is way to active it's not practicle because sometimes it may not work. I know it's different for p25 trunk systems. It all depends on whatsusyem he wants to moniter.

Yes, make sure you program it with out authorization from the State of Wisconsin. Hack the system key and use a RID already on the system so you can monitor it. Then let us know what state prison your in so we can write to you. IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PROGRAMMING MOTOROLA'S THEN DON'T ATTEMPT TO!! YOU RISK SCREWING UP THE SYSTEM OR SOMEONE'S RADIO ALREADY ON THE SYSTEM!. GET A SCANNER!

No need to be like that man... I have already decided not to do it.. As I said before I DO NOT WANNA BREAK ANY LAWS OR INTERRUPT ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNICATIONS! It was just a idea and to see if it could be done. And this is my first radio so im learning.. I already have a Uniden Scanner that I use to listen to wiscom... Thanks for the input

One of these days someone's gonna get hurt because they can't call for help on their radio due to someone screwing up programming a TRS into a rouge radio!. If you don't have even a bit of a clue, DO NOT ATTEMPT IT. I am not the radio police but people don't know the ramifications if it's done wrong. A good sys admin see this and nukes the radios right off the system asap.

Seven posts from several people have been deleted. Why do you find it necessary to disrupt a thread in such a childish manner? Warnings and infractions were issued. The OP said he had no intention of attempting to have his radio programed based on the information provided up to the last post above this. Hammering a dead horse or acting like 5 year olds does not increase your standing here.
If I have to come back here the thread gets closed.
For the person who reported this thread, learn what SPAM is, this is not it.
