Default Vintage Convertacom and Amp

Hello all,As a firefighter/EMT,my hobby is collecting and displaying vintage public safety equipment.I recently picked up a nice N1244A convertacom with an MX360 VHF handheld and an N1254a power amp.I have found info on the MX360 but I can't find any info on the convertacom itself or the amp.I am needing any manuals that might be available and maybe the harness's for both.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think I sent the manual I had for the Convertacom out with the last one of those I gave away a couple of years ago.
But, I will look.
You might want to post the question on Batlabs and Repeater-Builder.

Keep an eye on Ebay. Stuff like that pops up every now and then. It may take some patience, but it should pay off. Set up a couple of saved searches and have it send you an email any time stuff you want is listed.

There's one up there right now: Motorola Manual MX300 Series Converta com 68P81010C75 | eBay

I am not sure the photo uploaded so I will try to describe it.It is in a tan palstic cabinet about the length of a computer keyboard.about 8" high and 6" deep.It has a rotary selector knob on the bottom left marked Off and F1-F5 with SINGLETONE underneath. Two square pushbuttons about half way across on the bottom marked F1/F2 and Intercom. Two rotary knob selectors on the bottom right.the left is ON-OFF and the other one is volume. There is a rotary wheel clock with Hour,Min, and second wheels on the top left.It has a desk mic hooked to it and a what appears to be a speaker line hooked to it.

That description matches a T-13xx series Remote Control Console Desk Set.
Likely a tone remote, but if memory serves me they could be DC remotes also.
Probably 1970's vintage.
Was used to control things like Micor or MSY base stations that were hidden away or on another floor or other room.

To attach pics or docs, click on 'go advanced' then go down and click on manage attachments, this will open a box that you then click on 'browse' and go find the item you want, click on it and it will start the up load.

Beaware that the file/pic can not be bigger them 945kbps. I wish that the admins would increase it.

After that, when you click on post reply, the item will be on your reply.

I used to drive a truck with that same convertacom on VHF back in 1991-ish. Worked great.

Like I posted above that is from the Micor era.
It will control any pretty much any DC remote radio.
You just have to set both the remote console and the radio to have the same functions for each of the possible DC currents the console is capable of. A certain DC current of one polarity keyed the radio, other currents (or polarity) would switch channels, turn PL on or off, etc.
Those would function with pretty much the oldest to the newest DC stations.
Even other radio brands, not just Motorola.
Those were replaced by tone remotes so that you didn't have to "rent" copper pairs all the way from a dispatch center to a mountain top for example.
Tone is much more friendly.

I want to thank all of you for all the great info that you have given me.it has really been a lot of help, especially on the DC remote control consoles.I took the info and did some further research and learned alot about remote control units. My goal now is to find the manuals and maybe an old micor base and set up a display.

I remember when I worked as a cop in the 70's. No ht, computer nothing. All I had was the car radio that conected to my dispatch and a total seperate radio for the conty s.o. If the shrt got deep and we had to leave the car all we could do was to run to the nearest landline.
