Default Motorola Centracom Gold Elite

Hello,
I am looking to purchase Motorola Centracom Gold Elite for our fire training facility to send out fake calls on our campus during the night and at random times. I seen this was discontinued but we have seen this operate before and we really like the tones on this software. All information is appreciated.
Thank You.

That is a VERY expensive system.

I have mp3 files of the 3 available tones on the CentraComm system if you want them. I can email them to you. PM me your address.

Id say just use the MP3 files and your 2 way radio. It will save you thousands lol

Besides the console, you'd need the CEB (Central Electronics Bank) which is a huge rack or cabinet of circuitry, PLUS software to program the whole shebang.

If you do find one (it's a legacy unit, and no longer supported by Motorola), good luck getting all the components and software to get it up and running, and keeping it running.

You would be much better off looking for a paging encoder that will do the tones your looking for. Connect up the paging encoder to your radio transmitter and be done with it.

Should be able to obtain a used Zetron paging encoder for under $200.

Going for the console will cost you at least several thousand dollars and your still not sure it will be able to function. The software to program it will probably be harder to obtain than a used console. Plus there is no support for the console. So your on your own right from the start. The pieces needed to make it work are big and heavy. You have no way of knowing if it will even work once you get all the needed pieces.

So If I used Zentron Paging I could use the tones from this software?

Why don't you just get a CM300 or PM400 or CDM1250, program the tones you need into it, and put it on SelCall encoding? That's how we drop the tones for our transport service, and it works fine.

Motorola is the ONLY legal place to purchase it. If it's NLA from them (I can check), then you're out of luck unfortunately.

The new MCC line would offer a smaller install and uses the same tones and GUI as the gold elite. If you don't need trunking check out the MCC5500. I think the Gold Elite is still supported by Motorola for parts but no new sales. If you have your heart set on one used set ups sell now and then on public surplus websites, like Public Surplus: Government Surplus Auctions. We sold our Gold Elite there a few months ago - 4 Ops, server, CEB, 3 channel banks with power supplies and BIMs, and the punch blocks. The widding bid was $350. Be warned this is not an easy set up, and you still need to supply the radios which would typically connect to BIM cards with DC or tone remote.
