Default What is your favorite radio?

Not sure if I posted this in the right spot or not. What is your favorite handheld or mobile radio from Motorola you have or used? I myself I use a Motorola XPR 5550 440mhz 25-45w version and so far I like it on both analog and MotoTRBO digital.

Favorite mobile would be the Spectra. It's incredibly hackable, has a nearly uncrunchable front end, and they're rugged.

Ditto on the Spectra. As for a portable, my XTS 5000 mod III.

Gotta love back when I had an mt1000 with a 10 inch VHF antenna on it. Those were the Miami vice times.

Love my HT1000 16ch K model. Has become my go to portable for amateur volenteering.

My FD has ht1000's on one rig, they seem pretty solid but I don't get to mess with them that much, I'm on kind of an old motorola frenzy looking at gp300's and a p1225, they are built like tanks, I also like the ruggedness of the gp350.

With all the stuff I've had access to, up to and including the XTS line, I've gotta say that my current favorite out of all of them is the HT1000. I've still got a place in my heart for the HT600/P200's. Kind of hard not to like a radio that can double as a wheel chock or for smashing windows.

I too would vote for the "ole" HT1000............reliability when it's needed.

Without a doubt, Motorola APX 7000 and APX 7500. Best audio ever from PS radios, IMHO.

My Motorola HT440 was awesome. I beat the snot out of it and it always came back for more. It had been fully submerged in water and mud a couple of times, after drying it out it came back for more.

My favorite is Saber III, followed close by my Ht1000. MTS2000 would rank higher if it weren't for the de pixeling LCD screen, I have not used the XTS series much but they are on my list of radios to get a hold of.
My motorola Portable list has been:
Ht1000
MTS2000
Saber I, II, III
Visar
P200
P100
SP50
P50
HT90
Expo.

I've owned and used more than I can ever remember, working for M long ago.

I have M1225's and P1225's personally now for my MTR2000 Repeater, and I have a CDM1250 in my work truck, and a CP200 on my desk. (UHF personal and VHF for work).

Now my favorites: My original UHF portable I got new with M was a HT600 with a short battery and a stubby antenna...that thing was awesome. My mobile was a 100 Watt Specta A9 with DVP XLII....nice.

Smile Love my 1550s

My vote for favorite is for CDM1550LS+ 160 channel version. I have two right now, brand new, mounted in my shack, one VHF 136-174 and the second is 450-512 which allows me to monitor local stuff and NYPD, as well as run GMRS which I am licensed for. As far as portables, my vote for favorite is the XTS-2500, which I do not have, yet.....

My HT1550XLS has always been my favorite of the portables I own. Spectra for mobile although I hate their small bandsplits in the UHF range. CDM mobiles are crap IMO, but I can't see spending $2k on an APX mobile when I don't live in an area that needs it (yet).
