Default Motorola HT750 4 Channel

I know this may be a long shot but is there a way to make a 4 channel ht750 a 16 channel.

Thanks in advance for your help
Bob

This can be accomplished by forcing a 16ch code plug into it via Lab (i believe its called), then assigning the side buttons as the channel up/down. This is the same concept that you can do it you want to use a 750 on an LTR system, simply by forcing a 1250LS codeplug into it.
I myself have never done it so I can't tell you the steps to it. There may be other ways in addition, of course.

the pro series radios are flash masked ROM's for channel capacity so a 4 channel CT250 or HT750 cannot be made a 16 channel without major surgery including changing the channel rotary. In theory you can try to force a 16 channel labtool codeplug but chances are not in you favor the radio will work again and can become bricked.
These radios are not like the old GP300's where you can labtool a 2 channel to and 8 or 16 channels, cut out the channel knob stop pin and change the channel sticker.
Just invest in an HT1250 or 1550, you will find ebay has them cheap right now.

I don't really need to 16 channels these radios are being used for my family when camping or outdoor stuff on GMRS I was just asking if it could be done.
