• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have a question and ill try and swing for the fence... I have moto cps ver r06.12.05 and I bought a flash drive so I could transfer my cps to my laptop so I wont have to pull cdm1250 from console to re-program etc etc. the problem is...(((and this is where im lost haha))) when u transfer over... its only a shortcut. I realize that it is not the complete program, but converting everything over is only shortcuts. I dnt have much experience with flash drives so im a rookie at this. is this possible?? the cd rom that came with the cps will not work if I "dl" it to my hard drive. I used a copy that moto sent me until my hard copy showed up. the zipped files that I got is the only copy that I have and will open and program properly. and yes... since moto "broke-up" into smaller companies, my account as far as I know was deleted. so I have to start all over again with that, but until I do... is there a way to transfer program over??? thanks in advance!!

You will need to actually install the program from the setup.exe file so that the entire program is written into the registry of your computer. You can't just copy the ProRadio.exe file and expect it to work.

If you have the CD just use the CD, it's not like you can only use it once... if that's possible on the laptop you have

You can also rip the image (a virtual disk) of the CD with something like imgburn and put that into the flash drive, you can then use magicdisk or something on the laptop to mount the image file you've transferred to a virtual CD drive. It'll then act like the real CD would.
