• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am in need of assistance in a few programming areas of our Motorola HT750 Radios. I will give a little background information leading up to my question in hopes of helping those who know what to do understand where I am coming from.

On our military installation, we use the Motorola HT750 (16 channel) VHF for communications. We have three assigned frequencies that only work through the repeater because the guy who programmed them did not want us to be able to talk direct (a long story). We also have selected radios programmed to communicate (via license) with CAL Fire using their repeater. The person who programmed our radios is no longer here and refused to show anyone else how to do it before he left. I have the Professional Radio Software installed and a ribless USB programming cable, all drivers installed and working correctly as far as I know. I am able to see connect to and read the programming our radios have so I think I have all of the necessary information needed for the questions I have.

Question 1. I need assistance programming direct simplex into our radios on an available channel. I know that I have both RX and TX to the repeaters TX, but have not a clue how to program them.

Question 2. Since we can program six more radios to communicate with CAL Fire, how would I go about that?

I could definitely use some help from someone who knows what to do. I will be programming about 60 radios.

My problem was that I did not add the newly programmed frequencies to the Personality Assignment. For Direct Simplex I put the RX frequency on both the RX and TX, and making sure that the TPL’ freq were the same on each radio. That way when our repeater goes down we can now still communicate with each other. I am not much of a walk-thru maker, but I am sure I could come up with some sort of screen shot guide on how to get the basic programming into the radio if someone would desire it.
