Default KVL cable questions

Is the KVL connector end of the Motorola TDN9390D KVL Keyload Cable the same as
the cable for the Astro Spectra cable.

Reason I ask is : There is one near me and I would like to cut the XTS end off and add the female hirose end to it and add the male hirose end to the KVL portion of cable and then use the KVL on anything that has the hirose ends or would I be better off to find the hirose cable and then the adapter for XTS? I already have the hirose to Astro Spectra cable.

Thanks

You're best off buying the correct KVL to Hirose and Hirose to whatever. That being said, a KVL connector is a KVL connector is a KVL connector. Even the 4000+ uses the same connector on the KVL side, which is bizarre - Mother M letting us keep an investment in cables over two generations? Inconceivable!

Wiregeek,

Thanks for the information. I am surprised to hear that there was no difference in the cables for the different radios other than radio plug. I was just trying ti utilize the local cable and just get a couple hirose ends but will just go on lookout to find the kvl to hirose cable.
