Default Adding remote head to an existing XTL5000?

Hey guys I have a XTL5000 dash mount radio that I would like to install in my vehicle but the radio wont fit where I want it to go. Is there a way to remove the current head and "extend" it or add a remote head? I only need one head operating.
I have seen a few posts from 2009-2013 about this. I am wondering if anything has changed in the recent years to make this an easier task?
Thanks

It's quite simple to do. You'll need a compatible TIB & CHIB.

Using ESD precautions, unscrew the head from the radio and disconnect the ribbon cable. Install the TIB & CHIB on both ends and plug in the remote control cable and power cable and you're good to go.

I'd be willing to do it for you if you have the TIB & CHIB + shipping costs.
