Smile band split

our department went on a new channel it is 460.13750 can i use a 450-520 mhz uhf radio im not sure if im correct any help would be good thanks.

Yes, 460.xxx falls between 450-520 and will work.

Any freq between 450-470 can be used on a high, or low split radio.

Frequency-wise, yes, the above answers are correct. However, is it analog, digital, etc.? If they went digital, then a standard 450-520 MHz analog radio is not going to work, for example. A DMR radio is not going to work for P25, and vice versa.

There is a lot more to figure out than just the frequency alone.

Contact your Radio Shop [Techs / Company]
Too many variables

a. Is your Radio Narrowband
b. Did they go digital
c. Did they go from PL to DPL

With all the above, the question begins of
a. Does your Radio Support

We won't even get into the permission to put a radio on a channel licensed not by you [you need to ask and get written permission]
