Default adding tlkgrp scan to Maxtrac 888 type2 ?

Looking to make my type2 trunking maxtrac888 do talk group scan. The radio is a 16pin logic bd w/display head. model D35MWA5GF6AK. what would I need to do to convert it to scan?. Just blank and re-initialize w/a scan model codeplug (B7, C7maybe?) or does the firmware need to be changed? ifso, does anyone have the CP and the eprom data file?

Thanks, Mike

I loaded a C5 cp into the radio w/out a problem. Now the maxtrac is a type2 smartnet model w/talkgroup scan. The problem I have now and also had prior to conversion is That it only randomly picks up transmissions.( I am monitoring a type2 system) All four control channels, sys id & talkgroups are programmed properly yet it does not receive activity all the time. I had programmed w/the same info as my mtx8000 which received the tg's just fine all of the time. anyone have any idea on the problem? I tried this w/a couple of different type2 maxtracs and still the same results.

Maxtracs can't handle Splinter sysems. So if any of the frequencies on the system you are trying to moniter ends in a 0, the Maxtrac will either skip over that channel or do a squelch sounding like sound.

Thanks for the info... I was going crazy trying to figure out why it would not rx all the time. You are correct. did they not have splinter freq's back in the maxtrac days? or- was a maxtrac available that could handle splinter freq's

I just don't think the Maxtracs were available when the splinter freqs came around. Now we use Spectras
