Default Mcs 2000

I've heard that the Motorola MCS 2000 radio model has been discontinued. We have a fleet of buses in our area that uses this model radio on a 800mhz, Analog, Type II Smartzone system. What other mobile style radios that Motorola currently produces would work with the MCS 2000 and our radio system?

The Spectra line should work, but you have to make sure you get the right kind, far as I know they're not FlashPort and you have to make sure the one(s) you get have the features you want.

Motorola may be giving up on the MCS because they are not making any more analog trunk systems - only digital.

The Spectra is also NLA. The only version of a Spectra that does FC options is the AstroSpectra - being replaced by the XTL series.

The XTL2500 is the typical replacement for the MCS2000, but I have know of a few agencies that have deployed the XLT1500 mobile. It really depends on the features that you need in the vehicle as the 1500 is limited, but it will do P25. :-)
