Default testing GM1280 messaging on the network

Hi guys.

I have this BIG problem and don't know how to resolve it.

I'm involved in this project. A big MAP27 network with 80-90 Motorola GM1280 radios. This radios must communicate between them via a device.(is not my job..)

My job is to se if the infrastructure is working. I tested the sms sending over console (head) and is working. But, don't know how to test the serial data messaging (longer then 100 bytes)

I don't know how to send a message via RS232 from my PC to other radio also connected by RS232 to a PC. In the past I was working with TETRA, and was easy because I could send messages with AT commands, but with MAP27 is not so easy.

Please how I can make this tests?

thank you.

Hi!

You may tray to use some kind of "dispacher software", like this:
http://www.hascom.com.au/DownloadSoftware.html (databaud.exe)
For testing purposes demo mode works OK.

And your Gm1280 should be equipped with 'GCN6118 MAP27 Expansion Head' (provides UART and RS232 level shifting).

Good luck!

Thanks Aldis.

That software works great.

With informations provided by databoud, I made a simple software to send messages to other radio, but I don't know where the radio destination ID is....

the paket ("XYZ") is this:
16 10 02 04 09 01 00 81 01 07 D4 00 B6 58 59 5A 10 03 22 7A

So, after I make the initialization I send this string to send a message. But this is for one id (22). And don't know what in this string I need to change to put other id.

thanks for all you help.

16 10 02 04 09 01 00 81 01 07 D4 00 B6 58 59 5A 10 03 22 7A

it's about prefix and ident, not name.. ..silly me...

hmm.....

for each message(s) received by one radio, on the console appear the "data recceived". It is some command to send to the radio over rs232 for deleting the message(s) ??

thanks
