Just put the frequencies into your scanner and listen to them like normal frequencies and you will be able to listen to the traffic on these frequencies.

i have been, iam a niagara falls volunteer firefighter, since we don't use VHF paging anymore we can't monitor radio traffic on our pagers, but i do listen to maxtel on my scanner but i hate the other traffic on it like costums, st.johns ambulance etc.

Hi Firefgtr, yep, I know what you mean, I would really like to listen to just the Fire Department on the Mpt-1327 system with my BC 250D scanner but there is no way to do it with a scanner, the old 149.440 paging frequency is still in use. I have been listening to the Mpt-1327 for the past several nights and have noticed a lot of open carrier's on the system, I don't know if there having problems with the system again like last summer, I do know that the Niagara Falls fire dept. is still not happy with the Mpt-1327 radio system, and they made it clear last summer in an artical in the Niagara Falls Review Paper. I think if there is a chance that they are going to opt. out of this radio system if things don't get better very soon.

NO WE ARE NOT TOO IMPRESSED, it goes down quite offen and its getting really annoying when we pick up the mic and it says "busy". I really wish we went with the same as st. kitts radio, clear and load

Do you want to listen to the MPT1327 net when mobile or when sat at home near a PC? If the latter then there are several pieces of software (and hardware options) that will allow you to track the MPT1327 system rather than rely on just scanning the voice freqs in conventional manner.
MPT1327 systems are extremely common around the world and it's interesting to hear that your system has had so many problems. I've not come across systems with problems over here and would suspect in your local case the system has not been implemented well.

Do you have a weblink to the newspaper article about it?
