Default New MPT1327 decoder

Hi!

I am working on new decoder for MPT trunk system. Currently I released beta version (no GUI, so looks like Tronquito, but not based on it).
In next version I will add more tracker control (currently only AR5000) too. But what I need is betatesting, so if there is anybody interested, please try it and send bugs to me.

Thanks,
r00t

Hi r00t,

I have run this for a while on my local MPT1327 system (small, 3-frequency operation for a town's Fire/EMS/Bylaw crews), and it gives me more detail than Trunkito, but I do have some bugs to report.

I'm running on any number of different computers, but the one that's being used mostly is a PIII-500mhz with 128mb RAM, Windows 98 SE, and a Sound Blaster compatible sound card. The scanner is a BC245, discriminator-tapped (though I've tried with the earphone output as well).

The system runs, as I said, three frequencies: 424.1625, 424.2625, and 424.5125. I have a good signal here usually, even though I'm ~45 km from the tower.

The program is crashing with a Windows illegal operation error when the control channel changes (every 2 hours). Is this a known problem, or do I have my .ini file (shown below) misconfigured?

Code:
[0x2309]
LogFile=C:\mpttrunker\Cochrane.txt
Follow=0
Name=Cochrane
SBMLog=c:\mpttrunker\CochSBM.TXT
02011D=
021771=
CH361=0
CH333=0
020127=
021FF9=
0200E1=
0200D8=
0200C9=
021774=
CH341=0
0200DC=
0200DE=
0200DB=
I have a bunch of IDs for those radios, but I haven't put them in yet because I wanted to get things working first, before doing anything else.

Any suggestions?

Would you like a sample of the signal? If so, how long and in what format?

Thanks.

Jay,

Same thing happens here (UK, so plenty to try!) with every system I've tried it on so I suspect not your ini file.
I've tried mailing root via his website but have never received a reply.

I would suspect it has to do with computer control of the scanner, since it only happens when the system reports a control channel change.

I'm wondering if specifying a COM port would help - even if there's no scanner there to receive commands.

Another thought is it may have something to do with the fact I haven't specified a control channel, although like I said, I have 3 frequencies, any of which could be the control channel, depending which 2-hour block of time of day I start the program in.

Oddly enough, the program ran fine over one CC change tonight, but not the subsequent two. I'm wondering if my signal dropped for just long enough that the program didn't catch the MOVE command? ...

I haven't specified a com port and have also set it to not track. I suppose I could actually try allowing it to control one of the radios.

I have systems that use a roving control channel but have plenty that use a dedicated control (which I do specify in the ini). The problem occurs with both types.
