Thumbs up Site 51 Dover DE/Kent County

Went for a drive yesterday.
Site 51 is definitely without a doubt in Dover DE.
With a lack of use/traffic, I did not see any other channels assigned by the CC in DSDPlus; if there are any.
Drove through Harrington & Milford also, Church Hill was coming in clear until north of Dover.
If Harrington is going to be a new site it's not on air yet (could be site 58 or not in the list at all yet?). Tried to pick up Site 50 without any success, furthering my opinion that it's located in S Jersey (Would need a boat in the Delaware Bay to prove it). Definitely not on air in Delaware. Perhaps there is someone in South Jersey who can pick it up? I'm still convinced it's Centerton/Cumberland Co. The neighbor list was unchanged from what's previously posted. 49 50 52 53 54.

If I had to make an educated guess the transmissions for Site 51 were strongest just SE of Dover.

This is where I believe the transmitter is located.

Water Tower
235 Galaxy St, Dover AFB, DE 19902
https://goo.gl/maps/QLb12zgha8N2

If that's not it, It's close enough for horseshoes, and definitely good enough for confirmation & posting to the RRDB.

I think Middletown DE is a prime location for a new site also, It would definitely complete MADRN's coverage of Delaware plus Cecil county in MD, It would mean DELMARVA is covered at least to the Virginia state line (Or close to it)

I did a 4 mi search for FCC licenses out from that Water tower. IF that site you are mentioning is in Dover, I would really wonder if it were on the Magnum Electronics 150 foot tower on 612 Mary St in Dover.

Magnum Electronics is one of MADRN's "Valued Resellers" Of course, they might have towers elsewhere, or the site location might be elsewhere on who knows whose tower.

Water St tower: https://goo.gl/maps/htfRhmRsnJT2 - 3.8 mi away from the water tower you referenced

From the above website:

http://www.magnumelectronics.com/v/v...2699756479.jpg

Looks like my watertower? No? if you zoom in it's located near the north side of the X formed by the AFB landing strip.

Just above the N in the Magnum Logo. I downloaded that map and zoomed way in, you can see the AFB strips in the map. Unless there are other towers in that immediate area.

Don't know if the map is indicating a transmitter location or not. Just pointing it out.

They have a presence here..

a stones throw from that water tower.

I guess we won't know for sure until an insider spills the beans; or Triangle adds some more channels and has to submit to the FCC like Harrington.

Post Mid-Atlantic Digital Radio Network Unit IDs

FYI,

An MADRN Radio ID wiki has been created for all to collaborate and compare notes on..

I provided an initial load of ID's to start it up.

Last night was a good night for enhanced tropo from Columbiana/Carroll Co Ohio into W/SWPA.

1. Neighbor lists were updated for site 26, 27, 29, 30, 32, 33 and 57
2. Site 32 (Rockton / Clearfield Co) was confirmed online and added to DB
3. Site 29 (Rochester Mills) was using an alt CC of 462.25

A buddy of mine who is on these forums logged all the info and sent it to me. I won't mention his name because he might not be comfortable with that, but he can chime in and take credit if need be.

I doubt Ebensburg is online at this point
I'm guessing that some combination of Pine Grove Mills / Bellefonte / Ickesburg (2 of the 3) are online

If one can assume that the neighbor lists are accurate, sites 31, 33, 34 and 35 are online and very likely are one of Ogletown, Pine Grove Mills, Bellefonte and/or Ickesburg.

Hey, we all do what we can, when we can. I was surprised when my buddy told me the band was open last night (it was 46 degrees). Sure enough, I checked and he was right. He has a much better location and a yagi/rotor though, so he did all of the sleuthing.

Rgr that. Keep in mind, we don't know which site _is_ Ogletown or IF any site is Ogletown, but I suspect one of the sites which is online is Ogletown. Since they are 454 mhz control channels, we don't have any licenses to match them up with.

Reference: Mid-Atlantic Digital Radio Network Site Research and Color Codes - The RadioReference Wiki

Site 141-31 Unknown
- verified online

Neighbor List: 20 26 30 33 35

LCN = 1 TX = 454.51875 RX = 459.51875 DCC = 1 CC

LCN = 2 TX = 454.01875 RX = 459.01875 DCC = 3 CC

Site 141-40 Unknown

Neighbor List:

LCN = 1 TX = 454.61250 RX = 459.61250 DCC = 3 CC
LCN = 2 TX = 454.34375 RX = 459.34375 DCC = 3 CC
LCN = 3 TX = 454.20000 RX = 459.20000 DCC = 3 CC
LCN = 4 TX = 454.35000 RX = 459.35000 DCC = 3 CC

Every one of these is likely a Centre site. Most if not all are somewhere in a triangle between Cambria Co, Stage College, and McConnellsburg

Actually, site 40 might be outside of the aforementioned triangle. I didn't look, but i don't think that we have record of any other sites reporting 40 as a neighbor right now. I could be wrong. It may or may not be online, and if it is it may or may not be anywhere near that triangle.

Thanks for any investigating that you do!

Mike

Default Special Request

To anyone who can monitor one or more sites on this system and who has the ability to use DSDPlus, DMRDecode or something else to gather the neighbor list on a site...

Please check all sites you can hear, log the latest neighbor list information, and post the neighbor list for the sites you've monitored . I'm only looking for recent data (within the past couple of days, or newer).

Why am I requesting this? Well, as new sites are put online, the sysadmins apparently are updating the neighbor lists on adjacent sites to more accurately match the active sites that can be roamed to. So if Site ### reported neighbors 3 and 5 six months ago but new sites have come online surrounding site ###, then Site ### will likely have a new neighbor list with more useful information.

Please just make sure you have a decent signal and have confirmed that the neighbor list that you give us is accurate. If using DSDPlus, gather the neighbor list, and then press "d" to disregard and drop all of the data from DSDPlus. Then let DSDPlus repopulate the neighbor list. If it appears you've got an accurate neighbor list off of a site, post it.

Thanks

Mike
