Council Bluffs on ORION?

This morning around 1040am what I would suspect, Council Bluffs PD? was conducting tests over ORION. Mentioned missing person report on Harry Langdon Blvd, theft at Popeyes on West Broadway and a few traffic stops. Only lasted 20min then went away. Heard dispatcher say "Units on digital return to Dispatch".

TG was 3001 Site 101 SY144.

Anybody else get this/confirm this?

I was in CB a couple days ago. I couldn't even hear the ORION system from my hotel room. I was using a 396t. There was a cell phone tower nearby, maybe that was the problem? Hearing anything from site 600? I didn't when I was there.

Site 101 works quite well in Council Bluffs, even with a 3 watt portable.

The Pott. County sites won't be turned up until later this year. There are still several towers to
be constructed. Look for things to be working around October.

Hey, Tim, how have you been?? Speaking of cell towers, at my location, I have to set "ATT" on my Pro96 to get good decode rate from ORION. Sarpy County Sheriff's Bellevue Tower, tends to overload the front end of my 96. Besides the Sheriff, Verizon, Cricket, Alltel, and AT&T wireless are also tenants on that tower.

I tried that "ATT" trick, didn't work.

I was in town making my student trips as a engineer.
