Highway Patrol freq's

I am looking for NB. Highway Patrol freq's. My son and I will be driving his vehicle from Southern CA. to Iowa before his Marine Corp deployment, and being a former state trooper, now a city cop; I would like to scan the highway patrol freq's if possible.

speaking from first hand experience, you will hear pretty much nothing without an antenna designed/cut specifically for the 42mhz range. if ya wanna stop in fremont, ill sell ya mine..
