Default Branched Oak Lake Boating Accident

I heard on the scanner moments ago a report of a boating accident at Branched Oak Lake, just off of Leiber's Point. Initial reports have two person in the water, and reported underwater for five minutes. Raymond Fire, StarCare V, Lancaster Sheriff's Office, Lincoln Fire Dive Team, Nebraska State Patrol and Nebraska Game and Parks are all on scene or dispatched. Most rescue/recovery efforts are taking place on the north tower, 851.7500.

On Scene command requested StarCare to circle the lake looking for persons in water.

More details to follow.

No updates to this incident yet. It's been just over an hour now since the call came in. The above named resources are all on-site, and radio chatter is fairly quiet now. I know divers were in the water, those divers were from Raymond VFD and Lincoln Fire and Rescue divers were also on scene and in the water.

Initial reports indicated two missing in the water. I haven't heard a count mention since that original report. It sounds rather grim, though they have a good idea of where to search. The last known sighting is marked by witnesses and personnel.

After a brief over-flight of the area, StarCare landed on scene.

Not much else to report at this time.

Default Update

Two persons are confirmed missing, and the identity of one is known. Efforts are underway to locate the missing persons. An estimated 45 persons of various agencies are on scene and assisting in recovery efforts.

Out of respect for the victims I will not be posting additional details, and will update with a link from local media when more information becomes available.

Default Update II

This information is a few hours old, but two bodies were recovered from the lake this morning. I haven't seen any links to news sites on this story yet, and I will follow up with a news source for complete information.
