Default Railroad Frequencies at Bailey Yard in North Platte

Hi All,

As part of my recent trip back to Nebraska, I visited the Bailey Railroad yard in North Platte. For those of you not familiar with the facility, it is the largest railroad classification yard in the world. It is operated by Union Pacific Railroad. Recently, the “Golden Spike Tower” was built as an observation deck overlooking the entire facility. I have never scanned railroad in the past, but I viewed this as a great opportunity to do some new scanning. While at the facility, I monitored the frequencies below. I would like some help in identifying what these frequencies are used for. I asked around, and no one would pass out a list of channels and assignments, but the tour guide mentioned a few that he could remember off the top of his head. Unfortunately, I did not take good notes.

Ch 8 160.230
Ch 14 160.320
Ch 16 160.350
Ch 19 160.395
Ch 26 160.500
Ch 28 160.530
Ch 32 160.590
Ch 35 160.650
Ch 38 160.680
Ch 45 160.785
Ch 52 160.890
Ch 53 160.905
Ch 64 161.070
Ch 67 161.115
Ch 72 161.190
Ch 77 161.265
Ch 81 161.325
Ch 84 161.370
Ch 89 161.445
Ch 91 161.475
Ch 96 161.550
Ch 97 161.565

If anyone can identify the use of these channels at the Bailey yard, it will make a great addition to the DB, and enhance the experience of scanner listeners when they visit the yard.

Cheers,

Joe
