Cass County Dispatch and 911 calls report minor damage to the plane, no injuries. Units 220, 212 and 201 enroute.

201 reporting all is well at the airport, patients will be checked, Weeping Water units to continue in, Manley VFD can standown.

It's a real bad feeling when you run out of altitude, airspeed and ideas all at the same time.

It's a good thing that didn't happen at the Plattsmouth airport.
WW at least still has a rescue squad. The Plattsmouth City Council had an emergency
meeting on Friday and pulled the plug on the Rescue squad. (At least temporarily)
I don't think the political solution is going to work long term.

Saw the stories in the on-line editions of our local media. I venture to say a paid rescue
department is on the horizon. Time to dust off the EMT-P diploma, John?

I read in today's Omaha World Herald that AMR Rescue is handling Plattsmouth Med runs.

Amr
Saw an AMR unit sitting in the convenience store lot along Hwy 75 last week. Are they being dispatched by their own dispatchers or run through Cass county?

AMR is being dispatched by their own dispatchers. The local Sheriff's office contacts their dispatch center
and then they respond.
I have seen American Ambulance sitting on the opposite side of highway 75 waiting for calls in the last week. Although they are barred from responding to 911 calls (I would sure like an explanation to that!)
They still are there to respond to contract calls that they have.

I believe they use alpha pagers for calls and cellphones to give hospitals patient reports. AMR Denver I believe uses OpenSky, or some sort of modulation that cannot be received on a scanner, from what I have read over in the Colorado forums.

Iowa Falls, IA has AMR. They are dispatched on a EMS frequency from the City PD/FD dispatcher. Just curious how they did it here.
