Default Switch to Fire ground one.

When I hear over the Radio, "Switch to Fire Ground Channel". What Channel are they talking about? 39.9000Mhz?

Most likely he is talking about the Washington County system. They are probably switching to a different talkgroup in their raidos.

Fire Ground 1 in Washington County is DEC 2050 or HEX 802.

Blair and Herman Fire have been Dispatched to fight a bean fire somewhere in the county. Can remember where. They have just switched to fire ground one.

I think I found that fire ground one Channel. It is on 851.1425Mhz Digital. I was doing a Scan of the bands.

Sure it's not 851.4125. That is part of the trunking system. You may need to reprogam your scanner due to Washington county complete their rabanding process.

A bean fire? I only fight those when I have extreme case of bad gas....

Probably mean a barn fire.

Nope. It was a Soy Bean fire just on the north side of town.

Ok I have a Question. When the Washington Co. Dispatch says switch to Channel 2. All I get is squiggling noise instead of voice over the Radio. It sounds like there talking under water.

Could it be that Channel two is encrypted?

Hi All,

I am trying to get an understanding of the channel usage for Washington County. I was under the impression for Washington County Sheriff, Channel 1 is talkgroup 2001 and Channel 2 is talkgroup 2002 both unencrypted. Can anyone confirm this?

Allan, here are some questions to help us clarify channel usage.

-Were you listening to Washington Co Sheriff Dispatch on talkgroup 2001 when you heard “Switch to Channel 2”?
-When you heard channel 2 that sounded encrypted, what was the talkgroup number?

Thanks,

Joe

I'm sorry for the confusion. When I hear what channel it is I'll get back to ya.

You may have been hearing either tg 2003-Sheriff Secure or 2108-Blair PD secure. Both those talkgroups are encrypted full-time. But, I will plug them in today to see what I get.

Since I live in Ralston now, Washington County is hit and miss down here, perhaps the talkgroups will pop up over the ORION Omaha towers. I still show Washington County TG's showing up over Omaha towers despite being rebanded.

I forgot to put in the control Channel in the Radio. I get an "ID Tag" # of 2001 for the Blair PD.
