Default BNSF/NCRC/UP and other Nebraska Railroad frequency updates

Folks, I have submitted to database admin to update the Nebraska railroad database, looks a bit outdated and needs cleaned up.

If anybody else has more information to add, namely information for UP Bailey Yard, please chime in.

For railfans around Norfolk/Columbus/Grand Island areas, Nebraska Central RR is installing a new IP based dispatch system, NCRC also purchased a building for the dispatching center in Downtown Norfolk and new towers are going up across the NCRC System. New towers and the Dispatch center is slated to be online sometime around Thanksgiving.

BNSF has purchased back the Nebraska Northeastern Railway, frequencies have not been determined and unknown if BNSF is using the old NENE frequencies.

Moderators, if I have this (I probably do) in the wrong forum, my apologies in advance.

Great list.

Should this be 161.1 mhz for sandhills, not 162.1 mhz?

Sand Hills Sub, Ravenna to East Alliance-AAR 66-162.1000

Oops!

I pulled that list together in the middle of the night and posted it later the next day. You are right, 161.1000 for the Sandhills Sub.

UP Road channels

North Platte Terminal
038 - Platte River to Hinman (MP 282 to 292)

North Platte Yard Channels
038 - Yardmaster/Terminal Train Dispatcher

036 - Outbound Coordnator
089 - West Run thru
053 - West Hump
028 - West Trim
032 - West Carmen
067 - East Run thru
097 - East Carmen
016 - East Hump
026 - East Trim

Sidney Subdivision
038 - Hinman to CPW 300 (O'Fallons)
027 - CPW 300 to Barnett (Cheyenne, WY)

South Morrill Subdivison
020 - CPW 300 to CPW 157 (O'Fallions to Pelton)
042 - CPW 157 to CPW 166 (Pelton to Horse Creek)

Omaha Subvision
42 - CPB 328 to CP B039 (Missouri Valley to Freemont)
38 - Yard

Columbus Subdivision
42 - CPB 039 to CPB 094 (Freemont to Duncan)
24 - CPB 094 to B145 (Duncon to Grand Island)

Kearney Subdivision
24 - CPB 145 to CPB 274 (Grand Island to Keith)
38 - CPB 274 to Platte River

Marysville Subdivison
27 - CPZ 143 to CPB 176 (Upland to Gibbon)

Channels with a "0" have been narrowbanded. I am sure the others are now narrowbanded as well as UP has been fairly aggressive with it. I am sure I am missing a few subs, but those are the major ones at least. Common UP road channels are 24, 27, 42 with 36, 38 for yard. 20 is common for MOW. Of course, any channel can be used anywhere.

I'm kinda confused. The IP-based system is just for dispatch or would it be for yard channels, road channels, etc.? I would be interested in turning on the rail channels as I think it would be interesting to hear what kind of traffic comes across those channels.

Ip based means instead of using point to point backhaul, the connection to the towers is (for simple sake) done via the Internet. The whole process is transparent to the users. Voice audio to/from is the same with same coverage. It's just a different way for the dispatchers consoles to talk in the field. Up has cut over many areas (as well as public safety and private industry) recently.
